Southern Alabama wins one somewhere making three total. We will have five competitive games that fall within 3-9 points (questionable calls will doom three of our teams here), and six games being lost by 14-17. Four games lost by 27 plus with the most likely candidates being CCU, ULM, UNM and TSU.
FYI, it's South Alabama. Not Southern. That's Southern Miss.

You guys seem to get that a lot. I've heard several ESPN3 commentators make that mistake.
I have too, and yeah it does happen a lot. It doesn't help that Southern Miss is just up the road from South!

We also get called the Golden Eagles more than we should. With all of the ESPN faux pas, it's amazing people don't think we're the Georgia State Golden Eagles from South Florida by now.

I have never bet in my life but I almost want to put money on the Indiana game they only beat bad teams for the most part last year and with us running more it will be a quicker game. It will be disappointing if we dont win this one much less cover. We do have our FCS game AND a bye week before this one as well. They have three straight FBS games I hope FIU can keep their starters on the field through the fourth.

Other teams' fans seem a whole lot more confident in us beating Wake than our fans do. It would likely be our most impressive win since we moved to FBS if we do beat them.

Don't worry, neither does Summers.
I wanted to type that but couldn't bring myself to do it.

This whole thread can change so much..... who knows what P5s have a good season? I am wary of Wake, personally. But, we'll find out soon enough.

USA beating OSU at #9 is too generous. I'd put it towards the bottom lol.

I think USA beating Ole Miss is too high at #2 as well. Ole Miss is reeling but I expect their players to come out with a chip on their shoulder in game 1. Louisiana might fare better when Ole Miss players are more downtrodden later in the season.

GS getting more points vs. Indiana than App vs. UGA is incredible to me. The Mountaineers are getting some respect. I'd expect that line to grow, but what do I know...?

Not trying to speak ill of App because they're very good and are my pick to win the Belt... but they are getting entirely too much credit in that game.

Sure, they're a veteran team and took Tennessee to the wire, but people are thinking with emotion instead of logic if they're calling for an upset of UGA. Think back to the Tennessee game. REALLY think about it. Other than an early turnover and a huge offensive play in the first quarter, App could barely move the chains. And Then there's UGA's defense. The Bulldogs' linebackers cover a ton of ground and are built to stop App's outside zone runs. Lamb wasn't even trying to test the Tennessee secondary last year and Georgia's is better.

I know this sounds like I'm railing on App, but I'm not. They're a really good team, but the P5 upsets require some luck and a good matchup. This is a bad matchup for App.

A bad matchup for the offense maybe, but Georgia's offense is pretty mediocre. From early reports our defense is going to be really good this year, and with Georgia's O-Line weakness, our team might be able to even the odds a bit. I also think we're getting too much credit, but the match-up is more even looking at from the other side of the line of scrimmage.
