Found this on another site and thought I would share it.

These are sort of awful and give too much credit to currently active coaches.

Just because someone coached briefly under a currently active guy doesn't make him part of that tree. A lot of coaches have been around a while and sprouted their philosophies long before Urban Meyer or Nick Saban came around.

I think most people can more accurately reading their coaches to separate trees. For instance, Leach and Whittingham [whose defense had been in place at Utah since his father (coached under LE) installed it in the early 90s] are from the Lavell Edwards tree with Anderson and Sitake branches off of Whittingham.

How is Arkansas State's Blake Anderson in Butch Jones coaching tree? They never worked together.

He's listed in Rocky Long's coaching tree for working as an assistant under Long for two years almost two decades ago, but not in Larry Fedora's coaching tree despite working six years together, including four as Fedora's OC at USM and UNC before getting the AState job.

That's terrible.

The list of coaches that can be traced back to Woody Hayes is unreal( he did coach OSU for 25+ years)...2 strings that I am aware of...
