Caprio with the Redskins
I believe it was announced before, but Skins make it official with release. Was with the colts previously and if I remember his old tweets correctly, is a huge skins fan.

Poor guy. I hope the dysfunction in that organization doesn't sidetrack his career.

RE: Caprio with the Redskins
Perhaps I've sampled too much of the kool-aid, but I believe the disfunction is overblown. Most of the players and coaches seem to like the organization. I scratch my head at different decisions, but it seems that management/coaches are on board with everything. That is not disfunction. I'd argue that the majority of NFL front offices are very much the same. They all are from the same fraternity. Dan Snyder is disliked by fans and an easy punching bag.

We'll agree to disagree.

I do have some personal beef with the Redskins. My wife - and about 60 of her co-workers - worked with the Redskins Until 1 AD (1 day "After Dan" bought the team) so I will admit that my view is skewed. I also have a good friend in the Texans scouting department who has also made me aware of some of the Redskins less than glorious internal workings - from his colleagues who used to be there.

But the impressions that still come from there based on the circus like atmosphere, especially since Bruce Allen has been there - "we're winning off the field" - and the chaos/dysfunction surrounding the whole Scot McCloughan departure and promotion(?) of Doug Williams leads me to believe it is still a mess. Successful NFL teams do not have almost 20 years of this incompetence.

Regardless, I really hope that it works out well for Caprio and that he continues to move up the NFL ladder.

RE: Caprio with the Redskins
Fantasy: Redskins are well managed and have key football people in place
Realty: Redskins have a lot of ex-Redskins and George Allen's kid in charge.
Fantasy: Dan Snyder meddles and wants to call all of the plays with regard to personnel
Realty: Dan Snyder is out of the mix for the most part, wants to win, and spends a lot of money
Fantasy: The Redskins have a huge backlog and waiting list for season tickets
Realty: They have removed well over 10,000 seats from FedEx and still don't have all of the stadium sold.

Lots of spin in Ashburn

Here's hoping Chainsaw Dan never has success in Washington, but Caprio starts on his path to being the next Tribe NFL head coach.
