RE: JMU and CUSA Backstory
Per USA Today Report:
2009
Contributions to JMU: $1,474,000
Contributions to ODU: $1,655,000
2016
Contributions to JMU: $2,583,000
Contributions to ODU: $5,851,000
2009
Rights/Licensing to JMU : $2,300,000
Rights/Licensing to ODU: $774,000
2016
Rights/Licensing to JMU : $3,298,000
Rights/Licensing to ODU: $5,155,000
Can anyone help quantify branding, marketing exposure, enrollment; and male application delta in connection with the ambition demonstrated by ODU to build an FBS football program?

I get this repeated posts intent and think it's a valid point. But, does anyone know how we got $3,298,000 Rights/Licensing in 2016? Is it a commission off things sold in the bookstore? Is it the nameing rights for that another "coke JMU first down"? 3 million is a lot espeically since it does not include name rights for either our stadium or arena.
I think we received $1,000,000 donation for Bridgeforth stadium. I would have to think we could of gotten a lot more than that these days......

How much was the Sentara University Park naming/sponsor deal worth?

USA Today groups a bunch of different revenue lines into that category. If you click the methodology link on thier site it explains it but those numbers come from the audited financials that are sent to the NCAA. Those are publicly available for all VA schools.

RE: JMU and CUSA Backstory
Sentara is giving $110,000 annually for 4 years.
This emphasizes the point that big money does not flow due to Olympic sports. It simply does not move the needle.
If you want a nationally competitive athletic program you have to do it with football and basketball at the forefront.

These are small time paradigms.
We need to see the world differently.
