Moving the UAB game could work except the Alamodome is booked that weekend. I guess they could move the game to UH, but I'm thinking the game will probably be moved to another year.

Where did you hear that? Do you have a source? This is news to me.

Two things about that...

1) It didn't mention Frank Wilson's name anywhere.
2) Might be splitting hairs, but "has not agreed to the offer" doesn't necessarily mean it was actually declined.

So I don't think the verdict is quite out on that one, unless there's something else you haven't shared yet.

There was another tweet I saw later that specifically said Frank Wilson said the idea was "a non starter." I tried to find it but couldn't, else I would have included that. Apparently he said this on a radio interview.

If you're talking about the interview with ESPN, I've included the link below. They ask him about the Dec. 2 option twice, once shortly after the 4-minute mark when they first start talking to him, and the other later in the interview. My impression of his answer though is more along the lines of him not wanting our team to even consider the "if".

By that I mean, he and the rest of our team see last year as unfinished business, and he wants them to be completely focused on not only reaching another bowl game this year, and winning this time, but also playing in that conference championship game and winning it as well. Of course that doesn't mean it'll happen, but his shrugging off the Dec 2nd date by saying he already has "an appointment" that day is his way to reiterate to his players and our fans that he fully intends for us to be in that game, and that he doesn't even want to entertain the "if not" notion, nor does he want his players to.

Then again, some people are superstitious about stuff. I don't know whether he is or isn't, but there are some who would decline a postponement for no other reason than the feeling that if it couldn't be played on its intended date, it perhaps just wasn't meant to be played. Whatever the case is, ever since UH decided not to go ahead with it, I kinda thought it was just gonna end up being an 11-game season, and it's looking more and more like it will be.

Saturday Aug 26th:

Stanford vs Rice 9:00 PM CT (in Australia) (ESPN)
MY LINE: Stanford 26-20 That will have to be one hell of a travel jet lag to overcome. I think Stanford will be marginally
REALITY SAID: #14 Stanford 62-7 Total but whuppin

Thursday Aug 31st:

FIU @ UCF 5:00 PM CT (CBS Sports)
MY LINE: UCF 35-17 A slaughter.

Friday Sept 1st:

Charlotte @ Eastern Michigan 5:30 PM CT (ESPN3)
MY LINE: EMU 31-23 In the back of my mind I think Charlotte can get this as its its game 1 for both teams.... but...
REALITY SAID: EMU 24-7 Charlotte I thought would have made it a little closer but...

Lamar @ North Texas 6:00 PM CT
MY LINE: UNT 45-15 A slaughter right?
REALITY SAID: UNT 59-14 Yup...

Navy @ FAU 7:00 PM CT (ESPNU)
MY LINE: Navy 41 - 18 Another slaughter.
REALITY SAID: Navy 42-19 So close to a perfect pick. That said, I thought FAU hung in there for a while but had trouble executing. But then Navy finally got going and that was all she wrote.

Saturday Sept 2nd:

Alabama A&M @ UAB 2:30 PM CT
MY LINE: UAB 23-20 IT will be very nice for UAB to start off the resurrection tour with a W.
REALITY SAID: UAB 38-7 Nice work Blazers...

UTEP @ Oklahoma 2:30 PM CT (Fox)
MY LINE: OU 55 -24 A slaughter but it will be interesting to see how new HC Lincoln Riley does against a team that he hasn't faced since his early days of being ECU's OC.

Kentucky @ Southern Miss 3:00 PM CT (CBS Sports)
MY LINE: USM 27-23 Kentucky football can burn in hell.

Albany @ Old Dominion 5:00 PM CT
MY LINE: ODU 37-13 ODU should be able to have a blowout win.
REALITY SAID: ODU 31-17 Really close to getting this one 100%

Miami (OH) @ Marshall 5:30 PM CT
MY LINE: Marshall 27-24 Could be close for all I know.
REALITY SAID: Marshall 31-26 Was fairly close on this one too.

Northwestern St @ La Tech 6:00 PM CT
MY LINE: La Tech 45-14 A slaughter

Houston @ UTSA 6:00 PB CT
MY LINE: Houston 37-23 Houston should be a much better team.

EKU @ WKU 6:00 PM CT
MY LINE: WKU 35-20 I can't envision WKU losing this one.
REALITY SAID: WKU 31-17 Fairly close on the spread...

Vanderbilt @ MTSU 7:00 PM CT (CBS Sports)
MY LINE: Vandy 31-30 Realistically, I think MTSU can get this--especially being @ MTSU... but some how that SEC jinx seems to happen in these games.
REALITY SAID: Vandy 28-6 Got Vandy's potential right but totally off on MTSU

That's my story and I might stick to it.

All games involving AAC teams I reserve the right to change my mind or have differing predictions in the AAC version of this thread.

Not bad to go 12-1 in week 1.
