I think this could be Western's best defensive team out of the last two. Talent wise.

On paper it appears that Western lost a lot on offense. I was told last season that the backup offensive linemen could have stepped in at 3 of the 5 spots and Western's wouldn't have noticed much if any difference. Brohm built up talent at the OL spot.

WR/speed is the spot I think we not not going to fill as easily. Western did get a good pick up, last week, with a GT. I believe he was Ark St's top receiver last year. And there's a lot of good back ups from last year. I did not see the break away speed in the Spring Game.

If Ferby can stay healthy Western adds that power back that can get you tough yards. If Baker can stay out of trouble I expect he goes over 1,000 yards. He was #16 in rushing yards last year and 11th in Rushing Yards Per Attempt.

I think the deciding factor will be coaching.....Brohm lost a few games on coaching decisions. So I expect to see that out of the 2nd youngest head coach in FBS.

Any fan that says they would take 6,000 to 10,000 more in attendance than a championship...is lying. But hey at this point thats all some fans have left.

I often wish this board had a "Like" feature". Lots of posts in this thread would get them :)

Yeah attendance at the CCG has been bad. Wouldn't mind it on the road so that way some heat comes off our backs!

Those CC games were the least attended both years out of our entire season. We have a great fan base, but they are FICKLE. When things align right we can really show out. For example, @Vandy 2015 when we out attended them, or vs USM in 2012.

As someone that was at both games, man they were the most fun of any other game I'd been to with "bigger crowds." It felt like a big school atmosphere. People stood most of the game and were ROWDY as opposed to the half-trying fans normally give. I was HYPE because the energy there was simply electrifying. Only other games remotely similar in my 5 years going were vs USM 2012 and hosting Marshall for the east crown in 2015.
