I guess we are getting a break in the weather. Real Feel is 85 at 11:30 PM. Whatever happened to 30 degree drops in temp during the summer at night?

Been to both. Different heat with no humidity. Vegas does get insanely hot temp-wise but I'll take that over 105 and humid in Texas.

Yeah but the air there is dry. I sweat a lot so I prefer dry heat over humid. Plus I never got bug bites there...it all depends on your preference. Both suck.

I live in a freaking jungle...don't tell me about humidity and Dallas. It's more humid than Arizona, but not close to Houston.

That's dry heat, I can handle it... Heat with humidity is what drives me nuts and we have plenty of it here in Houston 03-banghead

It gets pretty humid in Ohio, but luckily the temperature only goes over 90 a handful of times each year and only hits 100 about every 3 or 4 years for maybe a day or two. Texas heat is no joke.

Seriously, nobody can handle that Phoenix/Vegas 110 degree heat in the summer.

Down here in the swamp in Baton Rouge, it's routinely 95 during the summer and you can cut the air with a pie-knife humidity-wise. Basically the same gulf coast/bayou weather you have in Houston. But I can spend an hour+ outdoors in it mowing my lawn. Will be drenched within 5 minutes, but physically not a problem.

Spend an hour mowing a lawn in Phoenix* when it's 110 and you will be dead. And part of that is the lack of humidity. The air is so dry your sweat evaporates very quickly, which prevents it from providing much cooling for your body, while simultaneously fooling someone from a humid area, where you've grown up to feel that lots of sweat = too hot, into thinking "oh, I'm not sweating much, must not be so bad out here!", risking more exposure. I remember experiencing the latter the first time I went to Vegas, 25 years ago. I decided to go for a walk down the Strip at around 2 PM, because I had never experienced 109 degree heat and thought it would be fun. Remember stepping out of Bally's and feeling that blast of "dry heat" and thinking "oh, this isn't really that bad". Ten minutes later I was in the blessed air conditioning of the lobby of Caesar's, dizzy, with the first signs of heat stroke.

* If they had lawns, which they don't.

I've been in Germany the past two months, am currently in Norway. Sipping an IPA in 55° weather at the end of July. I could get used to this. 07-coffee3

Mid 70's during the day. Mid 60's at night. Love New England summers.
