A means, due to conference travel requirements, to keep out-of-conference schedules more regional. I agree with this.The question is what happens to future ECU games with VPI? I am sure Tech will not want to play 2 G-5 teams in the same year. Not if they want to be considered for the CFP. Is the ACC going to a 9 game conference schedule? If they played ODU and ECU in the same year, would it be possible your seeing an end to FCS games?

This is big. Really big. Wow. Congrats ODU. I know that VT just wants better access into the Hampton Roads area, but this is an amazing opportunity for you guys to establish yourselves as a major player in college football. There is no way that UT would do this with MT or UK with wkcc. You just got a long term home and home with the best program in your state. This is big.

IMO, if you guys make this a competitive series it will do more to put you at the front of whatever next round of realignment happens (if that happens).

Yep, good assessment. No way LSU would ever consider a series like this. I don't know about the realignment angle but it will help with advancing the program with recruits if ODU can hold serve at home.

Very cool congrats ODU. I would be happy to sign something like this with any P5 in the region (or even VA Tech which is completely out of our region). This is a great deal. Congrats. Now beat them.

Va Tech was always a good scheduling partner for us. We had a Top 25 matchup at their place in 2002 that was at the time the highest rated Thursday night football game ever on ESPN. They brought a Top 25 team to Huntington in 2011. They've been a more honest partner in the past that WVU has with us.

This looks like a very fair and balanced series. Congrats on the scheduling.

Expand the stadium to 40K. People will buy season tickets just for this game.

Va Tech has a huge alumni presence in the Hampton Roads, I think that also helps in getting the games. Most other sports, except MBB we play them. I to see that series restart.

I believe we got 3 ACC games in 2020. With Wake and UVa at home and UNC on the road.

This is a great job by ODU no matter who pulled it off. Very impressive. Your recruiting area is certainly one hella calling card. We have nothing like that to help us out for sure. Tip o' the ole ball cap to the Monarchs.

Happy about the game, but should we be at all concerned about our OOC schedules getting so tough we can't get to 6 wins? UNC, UVA, Wake and even ECU (for now) are likely losses. We have three of those in a single season some years.
