I wrote this earlier, but the worst thing that happened to Democrats was JFK's assassination. IMO, LBJ came in and pretty much picked up and carried us down the road to the Progressivism that FDR started (yes I said it... and I believe it).

Would JFK fall in as a republican today? That I'm not sure of.. but he'd be closer to the Republican platform today than he would the Democrat platform.

Bison had a few quotes in that thread that all ended up pointing at the "consumers don't know what's good for them" line she threw out there at the end, and there was no semblance of sarcasm in any of them.

So I have to assume there wasn't any to start with, so she didn't finish with any.
