THE ONCE AND FUTURE U S AIRFORCE -
The times they are a changing, and the USAF with them. Read carefully. The USAF Air University is a future looking educational school. I've been there. Will never forget it. 07-coffee3

RE: THE ONCE AND FUTURE U S AIRFORCE -
George Will is very correct. We know that drones can do the job so why not have faster drones to do what piloted aircraft are doing now? We still need pilots though for transport, refueling, etc. but for fighting I'd be advocating for faster aircraft that won't need to worry about G forces. Hitler had the right idea with his pilotless V1s and V2s but unfortunately for him and fortunately for us they weren't very accurate. They were in the same idea of Japans use of balloons to carry bombs to the West Coast, not very successful.

I wonder though how much cheaper a fighter styled drone would be, as cruise missiles are pretty expensive but with drone fighters they can be reused over and over versus a cruise missiles one time use. I guess that would be the savings.
