So there were people all amped up for shark week and bought into the hype that Michael Phelps was going to race a real shark??? SMH. Of course he wasn't going to race a great white shark. And...you should have know he would lose the race. Most likely, the simulated shark was probably created with the least favorable factors for a great white to try to make it interesting. Anyone thinking that a land based human could beat an aquatic animal designed for speed in a race...don't know what to say.

I didn't watch the special. I thought it was a dumb concept from the get go. Just a guy trying to get his money before his fame completely evaporates. Can't blame him.

I dont care about shark week or Phelps, but even I read last week where they wouldnt be in the water at the same time. So I'm not sure why those who are completely into shark week and the phelps race wouldnt know that.

On a side note, I am impressed that phelps swam to within 2 seconds of a great white in the 100M.

Meh, this is what passes for entertainment these days. We are screwed up in the head as a country as regards what we will watch and how much we'll pay to watch it. In a sane, reasonable and rational world the military, first responders, teachers etc would be well paid while athletes would be treated like normal people.

This was on a couple of years ago. People was so worried about the anaconda than instead of watching and learning that giant snakes are not to be that fearsome.

Anybody remember the mermaid special a few years back. People were really upset that they didn't find a real mermaid. It was just a mockumentary describing how they would exist if they did.
