Memphis undefeated?
After looking at Memphis' schedule and considering the offensive production coming back, I think they will go undefeated.

Their OOC schedule is very weak this year with ULM, and Georgia State, which are both rebuilding, lower tier Sun Belt teams, and Southern Illinois of course is out of the FCS. There is a significant difference between teams like Arkansas State and Appalachian State and ULM and Georgia State. I do give them credit for playing at Georgia State. Playing Home and Homes with Schools in the region is good for the program, and good for recruiting. Georgia State will have a unique home field advantage at the old Turner Field, and will be improved, record wise, when compared to the 2016 campaign.

Initially, I thought UCLA would beat Memphis, but after further review, I think the fact that the game is in Memphis, and UCLA's inability to settle on an offensive scheme gives Memphis the advantage. Memphis's senior laden offensive should be a deciding factor. The only question mark is which Josh Rosen shows up? This game along with USF's game against Illinois give the American the best chance to garner P5 scalps in 2017.

In conference, the only games I see that will be significantly challenging will be @Houston, and @Tulsa, both on weekday nights. Houston will likely be adjusting to a new coach, and there will be growing pains in year one under Major. Tulsa on the other hand should be firing on all cylinders, and will have settled in, after a tough OOC where they will be challenged, and will have taken a few lumps. This bodes will for conference play, and makes Tulsa a serious threat to Memphis.

If Memphis can win these conference road games, they will sail through to the Championship Game, and likely host USF.

RE: Memphis undefeated?
Memphis could go 7-5 or we could go 12-0...that's what makes it fun.

that said, this feels like a special season and UCLA @ Memphis will be a fun environment. It'll be our biggest crowd since we upset #13 Mississippi.

full disclosure...I picked Memphis to go 9-3 (6-2 AAC)

The Tigers are a well coached team with experience and talent (especially offensively), but it is very difficult to win every game and I do not expect it.

We go undefeated we still don't play for the national title. That's the G5 reality.

Memphis could make the playoffs... Going undefeated is obvious, but Memphis would need for USF to go undefeated as well. USF isn’t on Memphis’ schedule. The dysfunctional B12 will likely knock itself out of the CFP because its top two schools must play each other again in a B12 championship game:

Memphis would also need another “Autonomous” conference champion to have at least two loses.

The game at UCF maybe tougher then the one at Tulsa.

Memphis has to come to our house, thus they will (yet again) succumb to teh fear. That ultimately won't even matter, because right around 6-0 is when Norvell will start getting calls from his dream job in Lexington, and that's where the wheels will fall off.

Go undefeated and you might sneak in. They problem is your schedule is really weak. If y'all had one other decent P5 instead of Ga St then I could see it pretty easily. I think y'all will need to be undefeated and the 4 spot be between y'all and a 10-2 or 11-2 team.

Maybe, but Tulsa knocked both UCF and Memphis into the ditch at Orlando and Memphis last year. Tulsa has Houston, Memphis and Navy at home, a W trifecta is entirely possible on 11th Street this season.

The only way it happens.

USF - 11-1
UCLA - 11-1

If we beat UCLA, and they are the top team in the PAC-12. It would hard to keep us out, but they still probably would.

RE: Memphis undefeated?
I think it's silly to talk about Memphis going undefeated before the season starts. Our offense will likely be incredible, but we lost a lot in the secondary on a defense that got clobbered quite a few times last season. At UCF, UCLA, Navy, at Houston and at Tulsa will all probably be tough games. I see 9 or 10 wins, but not 12.

Depends a lot on how our defense performs, and right now, it's untested.

Just win that first one against UCLA for us, Tigers, and let the rest of the season play out. AAC rocks.

With an overall week schedule, Memphis would need to go undefeated to be assured a NYD Bowl. Tulsa on the other hand has a challenging schedule.

Please. We would play Houston, UCLA, Tulsa, SMU and USF.

The AAC West is loaded. Please get back to the G4.
