Berkman or Bust
Based on the recent departure of coaches and the decommitments it is safe to say that Rice baseball needs something drastic to turn around the direction the program is headed in. While we made it to the regional championship game that should not be enough for people to be content with the state of the program. A 33-31 season should never be good enough. Just because it is a winning season does not mean it is a successful season based on the standards we have created for ourselves.

If Lance is in fact hired, I hope they use this photo for his Bio and press release.

It looks like he is re-enacting the scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where the high priest removes the sacrifice victim's heart...

There has been one-- singular; not plural-- decommit (of a recruit 2 years out) and that was due to Van Hook leaving (as the kid has yet to visit campus).

Stop taking this thread off topic, Walt.

Lance doesn't discriminate against dogs in his household pets photo album. That's a good dog.

That's correct. One of TWO 2019 recruits. Meanwhile TCU, Texas, A&M, LSU, etc are all sitting with 10 or more 2019 recruits. Van Hook is the first recruiting coordinator (maybe ever) at Rice to go after kids 2+ years out. This, as I stated in the thread that went off the rails, is why losing VH hurts a lot more than most realize.

Not necessarily disagreeing but isn't there another Cruz behind Trei lined up to come? That's likely not a VH tie.

The youngest remaining commit is 2019 RHP Jackson Kiddy (Sweeny, Tx). So if there's another Cruz after Trei, I'm not aware of him.

Trei is one of three children of Jose Jr. He has another younger boy and girl.

How old is Jose's youngest son?

According to perfectgame, we only have one 2019 commit. That's WAY below the average for most notable baseball programs. Kiddy has been committed since the beginning of last year. Rivera had been committed about the same amount of time....coinciding with Van Hook getting the recruiting job.

Lance seems to have a knack for nutrition - better for our team than chewing sugar-filled bubble gum or salty sunflower seeds.
