The mwc has three schools at 27 million, wsu comes in at just over 25 million. A fourth of your leagues budgets are horrible. We had a long discussion with fanhood. Its pretty clear in the numbers, mwc is in trouble.

Can you post a link for the newer numbers? I have been useing this site. http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/finances/

There is an entire thread filled with them from the last two years. . . I dont recall the thread heading but it was a long one.

Fanhood claimed that the mwc was doing fine on budgets compared to the AAC, turns out san diego state, hawaii and another school would even be in the top half and its pretty far drop after the mwc's first four or five. Nevada and a couple other schools are at 27 million. Wsu without a conference pay out or football is at 25 million which i think shows how much trouble the mwc is in.

MWC is not in trouble. They just have no aspiration and they are at their ceiling. AAC has a high ceiling. That is the difference in the conferences.

.

Well then if thats their ceiling, thats trouble a fourth of the league is below the cusa budgets and have basketball only schools who aren't in the big east around and in front of them.

No more 'trouble' than CAA or D II conferences who will keep on playing sports at their level. MWC just won't be able to elevate.

.

I grade Aresco at a "C".

He's been an average commissioner, meaning I think that had any random qualified commissioner been hired in his stead five years ago, we'd be right about where we are now. Hasn't done anything exceptional for us, hasn't done anything exceptionally dumb, either. Since I don't like mediocrity, i wouldn't have renewed his contract this past winter, unless he agreed to a big pay cut.

You can thank your school president and the others for his salary. They approve it. Should he turn it down? I don't care if you approve or disapprove of his job performance but not sure why you care so much. You don't pay anything towards it.

The only flaw I see for Aresco was our bowls suck and our TV money sucked....but I don't think those are his fault. I think our conference is the red headed step children of the NCAA.... they don't want us there but yet here we are.

Mwc only allows teams with football. Otherwise BYU would still have their b ball team in the mwc. Tulsa and Tulane would have never been invited to this conference because sdsu and bsu may have stayed instead of leaving. So the requirement to play football for the mwc actually provided one of the last life boats out of cusa.

Lol wtf are you talking about? You realize we we're part of that group of schools (mwc) before you right? Tulsa was part of the WAC before the MWC existed. The gang of eight left the conference they were in and formed new one, against the rules of the conference.

There is a thread on the board with the athletic budgets from the mighty mwc and the AAC. The mwc has 3 schools within a couple million of a basketball only team in the AAC who doesnt even get a conference pay out 03-lmfao

Despite bsu's sweetheart deal it is behind several aac schools and a only a few million ahead of Tulsa. The mwc doesnt have the budget to add wsu, plain and simple.

2015 Tulsa had an athletic budget of 30m, same as San Jose State.

http://tulsahurricane.com/sports/2015/6/...x?path=ghc

BSU's athletic budget is around 46 million.

The newest numbers are on here. Tulsa checked in at just over 40 million.
