I think App goes undefeated and stAte beats Troy at home but has one loss or shares title

If memory serves me correctly, coaches are allowed to give their first place votes to their own team (Steve Roberts admitted many times in the past he would vote for his AState squads) So I wouldn't be surprised if Doug Martin did so

Okay.... three things that stand out.

1. Why did New Mexico State get a 1st-place vote, and who did it?

2. Why did Louisiana receive a 1st-place vote, and who did it?

3. Why is Louisiana ahead of an Idaho team that went 9-4 and won a bowl game?

No one in their right mind can think that the Aggies or the Cajuns will finish ahead of App State or Troy... right????

2nd to last place seems a little high. At least my expectations are tempered

If App is worse than 8-0 in conference they need to start shopping for coaches.

Only race is to tie unless App just craps their pants.

FIFY. Who knows how the season could turn out. Coastal could end up being a top 4 team (just for an example).

I didn't think adding preseason was necessary since it is July.

I noticed that too. It is definitely tiered off between 3rd/4th and 7th/8th

Idaho gets shafted again. Can't see the logic of putting USA and UL over them.

When they face each other last year Idaho won by a TD on their home field, was outgained 483 to 407 and was a facing a USA team without Gerald Everett, without star safety Kalen Jackson and with a banged up offensive line (guard Steven Foster broke his leg in that game) and a QB playing with a torn labrum in his shoulder. Idaho pretty much maxed out their potential last year and will do well to match it while it is reasonable to expect USA to improve after all the injuries they endured last year.

So was 2007... and we were coming off a terrible season that year too. Are the stars aligning?.........probably not, just a weird coincidence

Yeah, while I continue to be surprised and mildly irritated at the love shown to ULL, I don't have much of a problem with people putting USA ahead of us preseason. I firmly believe that as long as Linehan stays upright we'll win anywhere from 6-10 games, but I also think USA is going to be quite good and we have to play them in Alabama this year.

Anyway, it's just a preseason list. We'll figure it out on the field soon enough.
