Amen about the good men of the league not getting press because they're too busy talking about the cheaters and wife beaters.

A couple of notes...

-Earl Watford finally started to get some work in yesterday at Jaguars camp after having missed all of preseason so far due to injury.

-A nice article about Rashard Davis waiting tables in his Charlottesville hometown Saturday during the violence taking place and getting notification that the Eagles wanted to talk to him about joining their camp... http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagl...70814.html

RE: Dukes in Preseason NFL viewing guide
I tried to watch the Giants/Steelers game last Friday night and it was pre-empted with an hour to go and no obvious sign of Abdullah. The NFL Network replayed it last night and I saw much of the fourth quarter I had previously missed. Abdullah looked the part and did a decent job in picking up the blitz (a key component to an NFL tailback's job description). His one miscue was a dropped pass, which had been indicated as a weakness of his by training camp observers. Giants play at Browns on Monday Night, so hopefully Abdullah is still with the team and we can get another chance of watching him. I suspect his best chance is catching on a practice squad unless he has a breakout game at some point.

RE: Dukes in Preseason NFL viewing guide
The NFL dropped the player-cutting rules that have existed for years starting this season. IOW, they no longer have to cut their roster down to 75 after Week 3 Preseason games, etc. The main driver is that the last preseason games see the starters all pretty much sitting and they need as many bodies as possible for the least-interested game of the entire preseason. I say this because I think Khalid will stay with the Giants through the final preseason game if for no other reason they'll want him to play as their top RB (Perkins), #2 (Vereen), and maybe even a 3rd stringer (TBD) sit.

Josh Wells very well may get a start tonight at Left Tackle in the Jags' 2nd preseason game against the Bucs of Tampa Bay - live 8pm on ESPN. He is in a battle with rookie Cam Robinson for the starting role and needs a good game. Unclear if Earl Watford has the green light yet for game action. He's back doing some work on the side, but not 100% yet it appears.

They have gotten rid of the mandatory cut numbers, but there is nothing that says they can't cut a player and bring someone in if necessary. THis is exaclty what the Eagles did when they signed Rashard David this week.

Would be great if Wells can win the spot over a highly touted Bama player.

Just showed and talked about Rashard on Eagles broadcast and talked about how he will get to return punts in 2nd half. They also said they will talk about his signing and the story behind it.

Jacksonvilles line is abysmal.

Yeah, the guy on the depth chart ahead of Watford is getting abused, same for Wells' position.

Give it some time. The OL coach is one of the best and will get it turned around.

Davis was back to return on last punt, but it was kicked inside the 10.
