American Cricket League
I saw somebody on Facebook post today that Dallas is getting a pro cricket team, with a new league starting around 2020. This new league is trying to build 8 brand new cricket specific stadiums.
From what I've found online, teams to be placed in:
New York
New Jersey
D.C.
Georgia
Florida
Illinois
Texas (Dallas area)
California
I'm not sure what cities they are looking at in Florida and California, but they were hoping to announce all the cities within a couple months.
I've never watched cricket, and I don't really know much about it. Could be a bit of competition with baseball as they are looking at a summer league.

If this does indeed become an actual league with new stadiums, could see a push for local high schools (and universities?) to pick up the sport as well. Many high schools on the DFW area now offer hockey for example, I'm not sure that ever happens if the Stars hadn't moved down from Minnesota.

It could be interesting but I don't see this taking off much further than low to mid level arena football. The NFL, MLB, and NBA are kings. The NHL is right there and MLS is the scrappy, little brother. NASCAR is doing good. There isn't much more room at the table or even in the house. The WNBA isn't strong. Major League Lacrosse has a better chance at surviving in America than the American Cricket League and hardly anyone knows about it.
