Cowboys and Blazers....

The UAB Blazers just might become the 21st century equivalent of Slippery Rock College that caught national attention due to its unique name. People would call in to Saturday radio football scoreboard shows to ask "How did Slippery Rock do?"

We may acquire a national following just because we have a unique story involving resurrection of a program from the dead. We might even attain a national awareness of our name as UAB rather than the hyphenated moniker. Of course, that would require an imaginative PR effort to see if such an opportunity for national awareness exists.
