When we say UAB Football is family, we mean it. Jacob Clark, son of HC Bill Clark is a R-Fr long snapper #theReturn

RE: 47
The pedestrian walk ways at the corners downtown were marked by brass disks with 7UP advertisements on them. I wonder if there are any under the pavement today? I remember two soft drink signs from that time. That 7UP and the Buffalo Rock sign on 29th Street North which showed a bottle pouring soda into a glass filling it up.

The present location of the Silvertron Cafe on Clairmont Ave. was built as an A&P grocery store and later became a storage place for the Silvertron TV repair business from which the cafe got its name. Across the street on the corner was Bledsole's Drug store where I used to get fountain drinks (sodas & milk shakes) at their counter after we moved to 3521 8th Ave. South in 1952.

When the electric trolley company was bought out by a subsidiary of General Motors (there were many bought up across the country), they switched entirely to gasoline powered busses which were purchased from GM.
