Ball must remain the program...
Going back over last season and the amazing run WMU made it was really obvious that the turn over ratio was most valuable statistic. The most difficult win and the only loss was predicated by turnovers... Ohio was marching in the 4th quarter when Spillane picks it off and ends the game... Terell makes an uncommon mistake out of his own endzone against Wisconsin... turns into a quick 7 pts for the enemy...

This team needs to protect the ball and force turn overs... Hoping the update of the high profile positions (especially QB) makes protecting the rock the most important aspect of this new offense... Defense is still filled with ball hawks and hopefully we can continue to force the turnovers...

BALL MUST REMAIN THE PROGRAM!

RE: Ball must remain the program...
It saved us from Northwestern, allowed us to avoid being in close ones with others where anything Could have happened, and cost us against Wisconsin (who was one of the best in the country on that stat).

But with a new starting QB and all our WR core being replaced -- the best we can hope for is keeping the stat reasonable!

I think we can and will have to lean on the stable of RBs. If we can control the TOP and keep the passing game down to less than 40% of the plays then we'll be in good shape. Very fortunate to return experienced backs and a solid TE.

FYI we threw about 39% of plays last season. Haven't looked at the correlation with turnover stats. Bama was at 41% Michigan, Iowa & Wisconsin all under 40%.

We'll run and run behind Ernsberger; and Flacco will shred teams when he keeps it. That will make our passing game lethal. Flacco is a lot better than anyone else knows. I can't wait.

Speaking of running game does anyone know how Matt Falcon is coming along? I believe he was a michigan recruit and seems to show a lot of promise. If he's back 100% WMUs running game could be really lethal. Is there room for all of them to play, WMU has big time depth at that position. It would seem time of possession will be huge for this team.

He said in the spring he is 100% and wants to get back in there, but the coaching staff is easing him back in. The good news is that he was running plays in the spring, he just wasn't taking contact.

No idea if he'll get playing time this year. RB position is so loaded.
