Are we getting any special uniforms for this year?

Last year we had the all black then had the white helmets for the Bahamas Bowl.

I would like to see a silver combo or something really flashy.

I hope ODU stays away from silver or grey. I'd prefer if they do an alt that they go with a light blue Jersey.

I think a color vs color game at VT would be awesome. Do it for every game and make the series something unique and special. Could help bring more attention to our school as a result.

It would have to start a different year. We are their "White Effect" game this fall. That means the blue will stand out more with all the fans wearing white!

VT is using the helmet from the Bahamas bowl to represent ODU. I fully expected that helmet to be a 1 off special thing. Didn't think I'd see it again.

White didn't come up right away. I'm sure it can be done custom though.

I like both of these better than the white ones. Although I do think a white one with a similar decal could be cool, but I just don't think it works the way they did it. Too much white space or something.

My thoughts exactly. It's like looking at a negative of a photo.

A retro ODU logo on white would look cool IMO.

Both would be cool in a faux-back 1920's style uni. Something like white jersey and pants with navy shoulder yolks and a thick navy stripe down the pants

It could still just be a one-off thing. We don't really have a set "home" or "main" helmet since we switch them up a lot so they could have just used the last one we wore.

The fbschedules website still has our old 3-color helmet to represent us lol

Its because they made a negative image of the lion/shield and it isn't designed to work that way. It fades into the white background and your eye has to work way too much to identify the shapes and see the image. It should have never been done. One of those things where if you know what you're looking for you see it immediately, but if you don't, you can't figure out what it is you're looking at. It could be a lightning bolt, or a fishing hook or something.

The fact that various schedule sites use various ODU helmets make it obvious that ODU has yet to establish an identity.

I'd like to see us stick with one helmet long enough for it to become recognizable.

I have no problem with alternate helmets, and obviously the team likes them, but we need an identity.

Winning big games is what will make us recognizable. Until then, I'm not sure you can blame it on the helmets.

A good majority of college level programs have multiple uniforms / helmets.

I think the school has started to settle on the Navy Helmet with the shield, and the state logo for the most part.
If the trend of multi-uniforms ever goes away I think ODU would finally calm down as well.

It's just the times we are in.
