With randy6969 as our inside scoop reporter and MD as special correspondent for mid-week games.

And Dogfan as sideline reporter.
Oh great, it'll be like naked news without the hot chicks...

OMG, look what just got published in the almost dead Daily-Chronicle

Quote:While many MAC games are still played on Saturday afternoons, the conference’s nationally-televised weekday games late in the season can lead to long nights. There are nine games on this year’s schedule that could start as late as 8 p.m. Eastern.

"Are still played on Saturday afternoon" does this mean the future holds no games on Saturday afternoon?

"8 pm Eastern". But not at NIU, we have 2 - 3 weekday games starting at 6:00 pm central which is inconvenient for fans and does nothing for the NIU and DeKalb communities. Not to mention the Toledo away game starts at 5 pm central.

Notice that the article in The Daily Chronicle was a pick-up from the Canton (OH) Repository.

In answer to 7's inquiry; the sports editor of The Daily Chronicle is Eddie Carfio (ecarifio@shawmedia.com). HOWEVER, he is currently on vacation.
The paper's phone number is 815-756-4841.

Interesting notes from the Commissioner speaking at Media Day. Just listened to the video.
He wants to speed up the game by 5 minutes to 3 hours and 20 minutes. Solution: Mark the play quicker and start the 3rd quarter promptly.
Will that work?
New Rule - Coach crosses the white line and comes on the field to argue a call - 15 yard penalty. We will see if this is really enforced.
What I see happen is the coach waving the ref over to the sideline which will take more time.

I also wonder what happens if the coach runs a little way onto the field to throw a challenge flag - since it isn't always easy to the get the refs' attention from the sideline.
