One day soon this will not be our world, it will belong to people younger than us, and societal norms will once again shift with tattoos being a 1 on a scale of 1-10 of detriment. It's already taking place as I know all kinds of young, highly paid professionals who sport them. As a defender of the 1st Amendment for me this falls under free expression.

I agree with all that; however, actions have consequences. In this instance this idiot ruined his chance of landing a decent job during a druken stupor when he decided to paint his face. No one to blame but himself. Maybe one day he'll get a corner office, but that day isn't today.

In 1987, tattoos were counter culture.

In 2017, tattoos are like 45 year old suburban guys in cargo shorts mowing their lawns.

Right, they don't carry the same stigma as in times past. Why? Because our world is not being led by 90 year old men who would view them as bad but rather more and more by people young enough to have grown to accept them. Hell, even AT&T released a policy recently that stated that retail store employees could now uncover their tats of an unoffensive nature because it could help them be more relate-able to their growing number of younger customers. The paradigm has shifted.

Actually, still led by old men who got them to "rebel" in their youth. They have lost all stock as a symbol of rebellion or value as something to set you aside as interesting. I suspect the type of people who would have been getting them 20 years ago will fall into two camps.

Camp A) will go from little tats and tramp stamps to nothing, because they literally mean nothing anymore.

Camp B) Will go from little tats and tramp stamps to ridiculous "art" covering their entire upper torso to go along with studs and body mutilation so they can be "different".

I suspect group A will dwarf group B and a lot but who knows. Either way the real money will be in removal when you realize that dragon on your 20 year old arm which made you "interesting" is a glob on your 40 yo arm which makes you look like a fool.

I'd do it for a million dollars but I don't think there's anyone who would pay me that much anyway so no, there's NO WAY I'd ever consent ever. I think it's sick and ridiculous.
