I'll ignore the dumb all-caps to address what is a fair substantive issue:

IMO, UConn's women's basketball program has never in the past been a significant reason for them being invited to a conference, and in the future it never will be either. As awesome as their women's hoops program is, women's hoops is just never much of a pertinent factor in those decisions.

It helps on the margins. Football is 85% of the package, Mens BB 10% and everything else equals up to 5%.

Even that last 5% isn't equally distributed. Figure baseball or ice hockey (South or North) is next, followed by women's hoops. Maybe 1%?

UCONN does not have a great market.

AAU membership is largely irrelevant to every P5 conference. Even the B1G took a team that was in the process of getting tossed from the AAU into its league. No P5 conference has 100% membership in the AAU.

UConn actually has a good market, but like many other schools, isn't going to carry it without a 'must take' cable TV scenario.

----

Basically, a conference might *like* to have a good basketball team, but they NEED good football teams with strong and consistent support. UConn doesn't qualify under that metric, and many teams in tne P5 wouldn't be offered in the new environment.
