Football season is just around the corner. SoCon Media day is next week on the 18th. Also a new gold jersey will debut at the opening game. Don't understand why we don't have a better picture of it.

Seat selection is going to be done over several days it appears. I am supposed to be there on 7/27.

We HAVE to get names on the back of the jerseys for recruiting.

Very few FCS teams do names on the backs of the jerseys.

And on the gold jersey, it didn't look like a football jersey at first, that thing is sharp. Should be the primary going forward.

Most of the teams we played last year had names on the jerseys. Even the lower division teams. Heck tons of high school teams in the Knoxville area have them. Believe me, recruits want it.

Love those gold unis. Sharp.

Mercer, Kennesaw State, Wofford, VMI, The Citadel, West Virginia Wesleyan, and Cumberland didn't have names.

Chattanooga, Samford, Furman, Western Carolina did.

It's a mixed bag, two teams were playoff teams, two teams weren't very good and ETSU was 2-2 against them with wins over WCU and Samford, while taking it on the chin against Furman and UTC.

The focus needs to be on winning and allocating financial resources towards that. A name on the back of a jersey isn't going to make anyone a better football player.

My seat selection is August 8.

The only need that I see for the names on the jersey is for the fans (like me) who do follow football recruiting enough to know who these players are. As far as recruiting, if a player wont come here simply due to not having names on the back of the jersey, I would rather them not come here.

If you talk to some of these higher profile players, sometimes something as simple as that turns the table in your favor. Just read their tweets /posts. We all remember the kid that picked a school because they had a Chic-fil-A on campus. Names on the backs of jerseys are cheap, but effective for that recruit that has his choice of schools.

Media day is tomorrow. I guess the Bucs will be picked last, but they didn't finish there last year playing nothing but sophomores.

Does anyone know if the depth chart has been released yet? Also does someone know about the defensive tackle from Elizabethton we signed last year? I could not find a freshman DT on our roster.
