RE: Realistic Win/Loss record
I'd be dissapppointed with 3 wins,
Content with 4 wins,
Happy with 5 wins,
And ecstactic with 6+ wins
I would take the over on 2 1/2 all day long.

This exactly. Nobody likes seeing their team at the bottom of the projected pile, but imo it ought to serve as some extra motivation for us and our team to be successful.

Not sure where the wins will come from but we have a fierce Head Coach. And a Team that wants to win. Not counting wins and losses, but have looked at Head Coach Clark's Former games and it seems he does not like to lose. Pretty sure he does not want to make a first.

I think we should win 4-6 wins, 6 would be awesome !!!!!
I think 4-0 start is very possible with a little team chemistry in place.

We had no business winning that WKU game in 2014 but we dug deep and found a way. I think there will be a couple of those in league play this year.

The only games we can't win in my opinion are Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee and Florida. Everything else we have a shot! We should beat A and M we can beat coastal Carolina and I could totally see us beating teams like Rice and Utep. The fact that we are kicking off in a month and a half is a huge victory for us! I would be totally happy with four wins six would be incredible.

I am hoping that early in the next decade, UAB fans will be able to chuckle at these posts expressing how pleased we will be to win 6 games in 2017. Maybe we will also smile at memories of 20,000+ being a good crowd at our FB games.

I think instead of plain vanilla, we will see something more like Fudge royal in that we are going up against a team that has a proven line up with a team that has never played a game with everyone on the same side. When UAB gets a decent lead, the coach may pull back on his arsenal, but he will want to get that lead first and will let it all hang out until then. Margin of victory will not be a concern until it is established on the field. FBHC Clark will not worry about Ball State until his team is 1-0 on Labor Day.

RE: Realistic Win/Loss record
Is no one giving Coastal Carolina any credit? They lost 2 games last year by a combined 2 points. Their wins were mostly huge double digit victories.
Sure D1 is a different playing field, but they know what is at stake for us, and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't walk with a little swagger.

Bank on it. The gameplan will be so thin you can see through it

I don't care how he does it as long as it's a win.

No chance of that happening. Texas A&M will not view UAB as a threat no matter how good we do this season.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State bought out our series with each of them before Clark came here.
As I recall it, MSU bought out the B'ham game after losing to a visiting UAB. Ole Miss wasn't ever going to take that risk. Ole Miss and Bama think alike about playing risky OOC games, especially in state schools.
The question is, "How big of a risk is it to play a team with 40+ seniors who see 2018 as their last chance to shine and with a real chance at a successful season when you have a new coach?". Is it worth the chance? This is a game that Texas A&M fans expect to win and win BIG against a team 1 year removed from non-existence. What if they don't? Judging by their 2018 non-conference season(Northwestern State, Clemson, & OLM), UAB may be their 2nd toughest game as they use the tried-and-true SEC scheduling model - 1 P5, 1 FCS, 2 "lower-level" G5.
Wow. I didn't really think about it until you posted it, We've got 61 guys that are Redshirt Juniors (43) and Redshirt Seniors (18). That's a whole lot of heart and effort to stick around and give Football one more last chance.

A good number of those 43 juniors are going to be playing their final year of football this year. Some are walkons who will be graduating, some are scholarship guys who could apply for what would be their 6th year (and according to what the NCAA has told us, should have no problem getting it,) but have already told the coaches that this would probably be their last year.
