GCU Buzzer Beater over Dixie State Propels them into the D2 Tournament and the WAC
GCU beats Dixie State on last second shot in March of 2012 propelling them to the D2 Tournament losing to eventual runner up Western Washington. Just 8 short months later GCU accepts the invite to the Western Athletic Conference.
Take note of the crazy fans in the arena for a D2 team that had no idea D1 was coming. This is pre-Havocs. Can you just imagine! Wow!

What a great moment in GCU history. I was there! It was a packed house, 5000 strong for this D2 slobberknocker. This was before the expansion to the arena. About the same amount of people who go to Aggie games.

Maybe if we ripped off people for millions and let in people for free to games we could do better.

Who exactly is GCU ripping off for these millions you speak of? Evidence please.
As for letting people in for free to basketball games, I am not sure why you have an issue with that. Seems like a great marketing tool for a school that is trying to make a name for itself in a market dominated by ASU and UofA. Plus the strategy is working. GCU has already informed their employees that there will be no free tickets available this coming year (except possibly for games during Christmas break when students are away). Why? Because season ticket holders have pretty much claimed all the non-student seats.
With the continuing decline in attendance at the Pan American Center perhaps NMSU should start letting some people in for free to games. Filling empty seats means more concession income and the possibility of attracting more fans and/or future students.
