Boston College Game
It's been a while since I've attended a game at NIU and am planning to make it out to this game with a buddy of mine. What is everyone's favorite section to sit in? Anyone looking to sell 2 tix, otherwise I will do the obvious thing and look on NIU's website. Figure I would ask here first! Seems like there could be a big crowd from alumni I've talked to that are planning on going.

There's really not a bad seat in the place. The east side is rowdier but you have to stand up the whole game unless you're up in the corners.

Best seats are West side C D or E rows 15 to 25. Student section leaves at half so you won't have any atmosphere over there after kickoff. To be honest , quality of NIU student football fans dropped off pretty substantially post 2009

RE: Boston College Game
I think we may be pleasantly surprised with attendance for this game. Even though it has a late start on Friday night (actually probably better than a 6:00 kick off to allow people to get to DeKalb from the city and burbs). I've been shocked at the excitement to attend the game from many of my friends, including those who went to BIG schools and not NIU. I usually have to convince people to go to the games, but this one everyone is eager to go.

Playing EIU should be a decent draw too. Good thing, considering all the late afternoon weekday starts in Conference play.

I have heard zero buzz for the BC game. I hope you're right.

Yeah I'm afraid it's going to be out of sight out of mind. The only "positive" this game has going is it is one of only two or three games season ticket holders can attend. So by default people may try to go to this one

When I mentioned the game to family and friends, they were very excited. I subsequently purchased a group package (15 tickets) for a phenomenal price in C section West side.

Maybe BEFORE the 8:30 start, as after the game it'll be around midnight.

At least it's a Friday night. They could maybe do fireworks at halftime too.

If NIU wins, they should do fireworks all night until 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

Yes!! I can just imagine the cannon firing every 15 seconds all through the night. No one should care because everyone who lives in the area is up all night drinking. And if they are passed out, the cannon shouldn't bother them anyway. Do it!!!

As much as I would love to watch NIU open at home against a quality opponent, my allegiance is with high school football.

Looking forward to taking Friday afternoon off work to extend the Labor Day weekend, head to the D, and get a full 5 hour tailgate in prior to watching the season opener.

RE: Boston College Game
I remember the Atlanta Braves on a 4th of July doing fireworks after the game.
Problem was the game went extra innings and ended at 1am. They decided to shoot off the fireworks anyway.
Woke people up and some thought Atlanta was being invaded.
Yes, shoot them off after the game. Any press is good press. :)
