Not surprising as other infectious diseases and bacteria strains are developing resistance to drugs. What is surprising or ironic is you may be more likely to die from the clap than AIDS. That would've never been imagined 30 years ago.

"Resistance to another last-resort treatment known as ceftriaxone is less common."

I always treated gonorrhea with ceftriaxone. I'll believe this when I see it.

Well telling kids that condoms are your key to consequence free sex has a hand in this. How many here we told that a rubber only decreases the chances of transmission by 50%.

You're right abstinence is the only thing that should be taught. Not like that would be an unmitigated disaster or anything.

I remember when they used to label them with the statement, "Not for the prevention of pregnancy or disease."

They are good at stopping pregnancy, but viruses are about 1/10,000 the size of sperm and they slide right through them.

Not to mention things like HPV don't even require fluid transfer.

They did teach/preach it but moved away from it to push condoms because they said abstinence is unrealistic, especially among teens.

They could go back to all-girls/boys schools. That would help a ton as suddenly people would actually be focused on their studies again, at least during the school day.

Do you really think significantly less grooming happens in mixed sex schools?

I do, at least when it comes to boys. I know too many people, including my own brother, that were groomed at all-boys schools. Then again, today the all boys schools are private and private schools pay less... and a large chunk of them are boarding schools that require living on campus for the teachers and administrators. Takes a special type to take that deal and no way in hell would I put my son in that environment. Not sure about all girls schools, but I am certainly more comfortable with my son being in a coed school that has exactly 1 male teacher in it.

I say separating the sexes until say grade 8 wouldn't be a bad idea. Just kinda pulled the eighth grade out my ass. lol

There are reasons to push it through grade 12 and here is my rationale

1 - Boys and Girls tend to lean differently
2 - Boys distract girls and girls distract boys

While I understand that there are also reasons to keep them together (getting prepared for life when sex segregation does not happen) 1+2 is pretty big.

Maybe not sex segregated schools but sex segregated classes? Have all classes in a school be single sex but allow for clubs and activities to be co-ed
