DW hangs up tights
Has stated that his match at Slammerversary was his first and last match. That he did it in memory of his uncle who introduced him to pro wrestling because his uncle dreamed of him someday stepping into the ring.. And that he trained ONLY for 3 days.

Has recently gone through a merger with GFW and is under new management and starting to make changes. Just wish those changes were new writers and elimination of that damn 6 sided ring.

STILL VERY HARD TO WATCH.

Reminds me of an Indie promotion which has shows at their local VFW.

But they have associations with a lot of international promotions so maybe the new blood will help some.

First and last until he retires from the NFL. And then he is getting contract offers from GFW (TNA) and NXT (WWE).

Merger? I think that was just PR.

GFW was nothing and the new owners of TNA wanted to bring Jeff Jarrett back into the fold. So they buy him out of his promotion that wasn't doing much anyway. He agrees but wants to save face. He says they have to take his name. New owners know TNA name is toxic anywhere, so what the hell? They focus on the Impact branding anyway. Have Jeff Jarrett lead the creative team.

Thought this was a sports forum. Wrasslin is not a sport, it is entertainment. Lawler admitted it when he went before the state on a license issue.

GWF had all of the co promotional contracts with the international promotions. They just could not find a TV partner. They had over a year's worth of events taped waiting to broadcast if they could find a TV partner. TNA has been on a death spiral for some time. So nothing to lose in bring in GFW.

It's a DeAngelo thread.

No one gets credit in 2017 thinking it's smart to point out that pro wrestling is not a real sporting competition.

You probably wouldn't even get full credit for that in 1987.

back on topic... Is Deangelo going to sign with anyone before training camp or will he hold out until the season to see if someone gets injured or suspended?[/align]
