WaPo Article Attempts To Connect Scalise Shooter To Conservative Radio Host
In Alexandria shooter’s hometown, rage-filled radio host channels middle America’s inner frustration
WaPo, making the news fit the narrative.
Quote:The Washington Post struck out with many on social media over an article that appears to blame a right-wing Illinois shock jock for the Virginia shooting rampage by a Trump-hating, Bernie Sanders volunteer who targeted Republicans during a baseball practice.
The lengthy piece takes aim at the foul-mouthed Bob Romanik, who spews invective on the AM dial from a studio in Belleville, Ill., shooter James Hodgkinson’s hometown.
“What’s the point of this?" Buzz Feed political reporter Katherine Miller asked on Twitter. “The shooter hated Trump and there’s no indication in the story he listened to this pro-Trump host.”

Washington Examiner political correspondent and Fox News contributor Byron York tweeted, “Revision of the year: WP suggests, without evidence, Alexandria shooter was inspired by right-wing bigoted radio talker.”
“Devoted Bernie supporter shoots up baseball field of Republicans. Washington Post blames pro Trump talk radio in his hometown for it,” Heat Street contributor Stephen Miller said in a tweet.

They were having much more fun when they got away with this BS.
I live across the river in St Louis, and I have no idea who this guy is.

first thing that came to mind was this reminder from more dippo charging hippos....

Quote:Snider continues, “The raw hatred I saw in Al Gore’s eyes when I said Tipper Gore had a dirty mind for interpreting my song ‘Under the Blade’ as being about sadomasochism and bondage (it was actually written about my guitarist’s throat operation) was a joy to behold. They really should have vetted me better before allowing me in to speak.”

I've caught the idiot a couple of times... It's basically he does one hour live and then they replay him a couple of times a day. he's called one Alderwoman a "Skank" on air, he's dropped a couple of "N" bombs on air.
Bubba, this is the same station that keeps Kevin Slayton on staff (or did.. I haven't listened to 1190 in ages, so I don't know if they keep him on.).
{funny thing was, Slayton would have his funny moments, and was nowhere as "shock-jock" as Romanik, although he had some strong implications in his commentary.}
They wanted to be a "conservative" shock-jock station (You can read into their programming another way as well, and I'd possibly be willing to say that I understand that claim}, but have lost so many syndicated programs in recent history, they've been stuck to playing old country music again.
I can't remember why 1490 let him go.. I want to say he crossed the line with some comments he made, but don't remember exactly.

It's time to get real. The issue is not the narrative the issue is with the people that make up the press.
I have never had any experience with press, state or local, that wasn't utterly and completely dishonest. I can only imagine what they are like to deal with on a national level.
These people are trained liars--it's just that simple.
Nothing is going to change as long as these people are out there peddling opinions and pretending to self police.

I can't say never, but I can say that the only honest journalists I have dealt with are all now doing public relations work either for government agencies or corporations because they grew disillusioned with the direction "journalism" was heading. One especially good reporter who we were always happy to work with ended up dating a friend of mine for a while and became good friends with me and my wife. She asked me one time why it was she seemed to be able to get good stories before her competitors. I told her it was because she reported the facts, not conjecture, and did her homework so she always asked intelligent questions. She laughed and said "When I first got assigned the public safety beat I started reading whatever I could find by Charles Remsberg for law enforcement and I subscribed to Fire Engineering and JEMS for fire and EMS. I also got an older version of the IFSTA Essentials manual as a reference." She ended up moving up the ladder to a larger station owned by the same company that owned our local station and grew disillusioned with the way that the media was going. She's now a PIO for a large governmental agency in the Upstate of SC and loving life frustrating her former colleagues because she knows all their dirty tricks and heads them off at the pass.
The guy who replaced her quickly found out that cooperation was a two way street and if you screwed us over you could expect the only cooperation you would get from us would be at the press briefings or in press releases.
