Somebody please tell me this is not true. You guys know that Jeff Bourne is to AD what Jimmy Carter is to US Presidents but please tell me that ECU is not paying NC A&T more than JMU for college football game this season.

ECU will welcome James Madison to Greenville, N.C., for a non-conference matchup in 2017 before taking on North Carolina A&T inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in 2018.

The Pirates will pay JMU $300,000 guaranteed and the Aggies $330,000 for their trips.

Before I jump to the conclusion that again, Bourne can't negotiate for the benefit of JMU can somebody explain how or why NC A&T is getting more money for playing in Greenville than JMU?

Did ECU see it this simply, here comes a sucker that will take whatever is offered?

This should bother us a those that support the football program. We have to increase our giving while the AD is leaving money on the table.

Regarding the bold above, why would this be considered "jumping to a conclusion"?

We get less money because we are higher for them to lose

I think if the Good Guys can avoid turning the ball over, your bet is safe. Well, that and some bizarro weather phenomenon such as a hurricane or 10 inches of rain that can neutralize things. Well, that, some bizarro weather phenomenon, and all of our starters having to miss the game due to terrible cases of STD's. Then, you should be safe. Well, avoiding turning the ball over, a bizarro weather phenomenon neutralizing things, widespread STD's to our roster, or the Dukes not scoring as many as the Pirates. Yep. THEN - and only then - your bet definitely should be safe. I think.

I am going to assume the less money thing is true for the sake of argument. That then is all we know because we were not there when the contract was made.

Could it be JMU would be more motivated to make a contact with ECU which would lead to JMU probably getting paid less? JMU can win this game and a win over ECU would provide some solid PR. A&T is an NC school so they get paid more? JMU made their contract a year or more ago and A&T made it more recently when the pool of available colleges was much less? Maybe ECU felt A&T would travel better?

There are likely many more other reasons besides Bourne being incompetent but we all know that you will cling to that one every chance you get. Every other AD in the country is better than Bourne in your eyes so you jump on any chance to shed a false light on the guy. Look I am not an apologist. If you think that ask Bourne or King. They will tell you we don't always agree. The juvenile smack at every opportunity and negative assumptions make your position on anything JMU lose all credibility.

This is the first time I have read the boards in months. Now, I remember why I stopped!

The man has built the top FCS, across the board sports program in the country and you guys still want to rip him every possible opportunity.

He couldn't have scheduled a better 1A game for us and bi*tch, bi*ch, bit*h.

Gary you realize I was making fun of Hazed here for bitching about that $30,000, right? I agree with you 100%, and I can't believe (actually I totally can believe) that Hazed is making a case about it.

Of course I realized you were on my side on this. I just can't believe people who love JMU still never miss an opportunity to complain about JB. Our program is the envy of almost all FCS programs in the country and he is the Captain of the ship.

They'll never admit it, but many FBS programs wish they were JMU or NDSU. We're outshining even them.

It could just simply be inflation, with the higher number being a year later. What did ECU pay for their 2016 FCS game?

"ECU will pay WCU $330,000, and last year's opener against Towson cost the Pirates $320,000 in guaranteed money".

http://www.reflector.com/ECU/2016/08/24/ECU.html

I need to make a correction. JMU was not the lowest paid FCS school to play at ECU. It was actually NCCU. Quote was taken from the article.

"ECU will pay NCCU $290,000 to come and take what some would regard as a guaranteed spanking. The money will help financially challenged NCCU while presumably allowing ECU to pick up an easy win toward becoming eligible for a bowl game."
