Yep. Pets take commitment. It was clear she only wanted one to promote it on her social media, and after a while the responsibility and newness was too much.

I took the premise of the OP to be another lib victim/excuse maker putting out a version of events that is disputed by another organization. To pump up the victim card and suppress the guilt of her decision by saying her dog was formerly "abused" and that made it more difficult to care for. Seems pretty clear...

Well, there's certainly no photos (or other evidence) of the dog's difficult behavior due to being abused. Is furniture chewed up? Did the dog bite people? Did it relieve itself constantly inside the home? Her excuse is lame and is being disputed as untrue.

Unless you knew this dog personally you really have no right to say you know if it does/does not have behavior issues

The shelter is talking because she's making claims about the dog that they know aren't true, and make it sound like they are at fault. That impacts their reputation. Additionally, she violated her adoption contract, which is binding, by not returning the dog to them.

They are defending their reputation.

She's a horrible person, and this is just another example. Molesting her sister wasn't enough I guess, to shame her from the public spotlight.
