Quote:Oklahoma football fans who missed out buying season tickets have another opportunity, thanks to a Big 12 conference policy change.

Thursday, OU announced plans to sell 1,000 additional season tickets as a result of the Big 12’s decision to reduce visiting teams' allotments from 4,000 to 3,000.

Tickets are available starting at 10 a.m. on July 11. Purchases can be made at SoonerSports.com, by phone at (405) 325-4668 or in person at the Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium ticket office.

Cost is $455 each, which reserves a seat at all six home games and provides each holder first option to renew for additional seasons, and request tickets for road games, the Big 12 championship and OU bowl games.

"This presents a new opportunity for Sooner football fans," OU athletic director Joe Castiglione said. "They can join the ranks of season tickets holders on the heels of a Sugar Bowl victory and back-to-back Big 12 Championships, and also usher in the exciting Lincoln Riley era."
