Some of us are going over there next month to help with debris cleanup. After the meals, ice, diapers, and water are gone there will be thousands of homeowners needing help, especially the old folks. Volunteers by the thousands came here to help after Katrina. My broken wrist should be healed by then...I hope.

Other football teams we don't know yet.
Houston Baptist
Texas Southern
Prairie View
Lamar
SFA
Sam Houston State
Texas A&M?
Texas A&M-Kingsville might be okay
East Texas Baptist could also be in trouble.

Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas schools could be effected later this week depending how much rain these states get.

Tropicana Field.

Of all the places they could play lol. It probably has to do with scheduling, but it sucks for them that they've gotta go to the Trop.

The Astros asked the Rangers to swap hosting series, Rangers host this week and the Astros in September, but the Rangers would not do it. So off to convenient St. Petersburg they go. Cheezy Rangers, cheezy.

Alternate view...

https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-r...ros-simple

What the Rangers offered to do was host the games this week in Arlington with Houston as the home team. The Rangers offered to give all profits to the Astros. They would have probably been able to coordinate some in-park hurricane relief efforts. They will donate the proceeds from the Texas Two Step 50/50 raffle to relief efforts from all three games against the Angels this weekend. As it is, MLB and MLB Players Association will make a joint donation of $1 million to relief efforts.

The precedent for this scheduling approach was set in 2015, when Baltimore was forced to move an April home series against Tampa Bay because of riots in the city. The games were played in St. Petersburg, with the Orioles as the designated home team. There was plenty of time on the calendar to swap out a home series later in the year, but the teams did not.

RE: Thoughts and prayers to Houston
The BYU/LSU game that was supposed to play in Houston at RNG Field was moved to New Orleans in the Dome.

Prairie View is supposed to play Texas Southern in Houston this Saturday. No word for the football game to be moved to another site.

Lake Charles is being evacuated today because they are getting flooding by Harvey today. McNeese State must be somewhere else to practice. Shreveport?
