RE: College Football preview
Oklahoma St last team in not in the access or CFP. Down to 11 teams- all will be in access or CFP.

by conference-
ACC 2- Clemson, Florida St
Big Ten 3- Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan
Big 12 1- Oklahoma
Pac 12 2- Washington, USC
SEC 3- Alabama, LSU, Auburn
G5 rep is USF

I would have taken LSU or Auburn out and put in Oklahoma St IMO. but tough to argue with any of the others..

And Clemson is their opponent in the Orange Bowl at #6...

So left is Florida St, Ohio St, Oklahoma, USC, and Alabama. 1 of those(Oklahoma I'm going to go out on a limb) will be in the Cotton Bowl vs Auburn, and then the other 4 will be your playoff teams.

The thing about these pre-season rankings is that they usually "hedge their bets" and don't take the schedule into account. For example, FSU plays Alabama and OU plays Ohio State -- so 2 of those teams get a loss right off the bat and will have to work their way back into the top 4. That doesn't mean those teams can't bet into the playoffs, but the path is much harder for the 2 early OOC losers.

USC may have the easiest path to the playoffs - provided they can get past Texas and Notre Dame and are legit enough to win the Pac-12, that is.

RE: College Football preview
Clemson has a 2 game stretch just in September with Auburn and Louisville. Then Florida St in November. If Alabama beats Florida St, and FSU runs the table- FSU will make the playoffs easily. Clemson I think they're projecting with a new QB to lose one of those 2 games in September and then to FSU in November. It seems extremely reasonable.

RE: College Football preview
Oklahoma does in fact come in at #5 and just out of the playoff again. In the Cotton Bowl...

So your 4 playoff teams are Florida St, Ohio St, USC, and Alabama.

RE: College Football preview
Florida St shows up at #4 and in the playoff, playing in the Sugar Bowl.

This scenario would be really interesting. The committee with Alabama and Florida St in with Ohio St and USC would have to decide between a rematch and traditional Rose Bowl matchup. I think they would lean towards avoiding the rematch.
