More ACC schools garnering national attention for success across all sports: the Louisville Cardinals, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Clemson Tigers, the Virginia Tech Hokies, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Great stuff. We shouldn't overlook the results of the latest Director's Cup, which recognized the fine all-sport athletic achievements of ACC schools such as the Virginia Cavaliers, the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish, the Louisville Cardinals, the NC State Wolfpack, the Duke Blue Devils, the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Syracuse Orange!

RE: Seminoles #1 in CBS 'Best in College Sport'
I kind of like the premise of the Best in Sports Cup, but think it doesn't go quite far enough, whereas the Director's Cup goes too far.
I think something betwixt and between might be a better actual gauge if one cares about this type of thing.
I am thinking along the lines of 7 "fixed" sports - Football, MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball, MSoccer, and WSoccer and then 5 wild cards - best 2 men's sports and best 3 women's sports outside the fixed 7. Scoring system from the Director's Cup would basically be the same except incorporate the Best in Sports Cup 2.5 times factor for football and 2.0 times factor for MBB, while adding a 1.5 times factor for WBB.
One of these days, if I care enough about this, I might do a re-calculation along these lines and see what the results show.
Cheers,
Neil
