Exclamation Helmets & Heels
On Friday, July 21, 2017, get ready for the return of UAB Football. UAB Football and the UAB National Alumni Society are hosting Helmets & Heels.

Confused by what "cover one" or "silent count" mean? Go inside the huddle and learn (or freshen up on) the X's and O's of football before the Blazers hit the field this fall.

This "Football 101" style event will give fans the chance to get unique insight into the game. Helmets & Heels will be conducted by UAB Football Coach Bill Clark, his staff and players at the new UAB Football Operations Center and Legacy Pavilion.

Helmets & Heels will be Friday, July 21, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Tickets are $30 per person, with a discounted $20 student rate. The ticket includes breakfast and lunch, an exclusive Helmets & Heels t-shirt, chalk talk and drills with members of the UAB Football team and a tour of the UAB Football Operations Center.

The Helmets & Heels program is designed for participants 18 and older.

Date: Friday, July 21
Time: 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Location: UAB Football and Operations Center
Cost: $30 per person ● $20 for students

RE: Helmets & Heels
Based upon the event title, are we to assume this is limited to female participants only?

It has been for women only in the past. Each year my wife wants to go, and then each year it's held when we are out of town.

The title is based on the stereotypical notion that women know little about football and men know everything about it. A football coach dinner speaker once said "Every man considers himself to know everything about making love to a woman, about driving a car and about how to coach football". Since then I have found that the #3 spot varies according to what field the speaker makes his living.

Keep in mind that one of Coach Hilyer's assistant coaches was Mrs. Hilyer.
