He's my favorite Grizz and I think the franchise's best player to date. But at $12M per, we couldn't do that...hate to see him go but he's always got a home in Memphis!

From strictly a fan's perspective, I wish the Griz would continue with their Grit and Grind mode and cement the brand. It is futile - IMO - matching GS's style and results for at least the next few years.

We still have quite a few players that play (or can play) like traditional big men. I'm not sure bully ball is completely over, but we couldn't stay status quo. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Maybe the direction we're going will work; maybe it won't. Getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs back to back years with aging players is a clear sign that it's time to make a change.

Yeah. They were arguably already the best team in the NBA. Then they added Durant (who's pretty unambiguously the second best player in the league, and will probably become the best as Lebron ages) at a pretty steep discount.

Barring a top ten player (or maybe two) headed to some place like SA, Boston, or Cleveland for the league minimum or something crazy, nobody is going to be able to catch Golden State's talent.

This was always my fear with ZBo...a bad team gives him a lot of money on a short term deal and allows him to start and get shots...

Happy for him, but I get why we had to move on. Always will be my favorite Grizz

While Zbo is clearly the greatest Grizzly of all time, Tony is not that far behind him in terms of popularity. I wouldn't put Tony near ZBo in terms of on court importance, but dude is the Grindfather. If you retire 50, you better put 9 right next to it.

Mike and Marc are a very distant 3 and 4 behind Zbo and Tony. Marc is easily the best player we've had, but just isn't as important to the community as Z and TA. He and Mike will get to prove how important they are in the coming seasons, provided they stay around.

It is heartbreaking but can't blame him at all to accept a 12 mil per year contract.
