Don't see UConn finishing second but could see them from 3-7.

03-lmfao Pesik did say that is where everyone is ranking them.

Reasonable Pre-season Power Rankings. No one is more than a spot away from where I think is reasonable. Would flip some teams, but nothing outrageous.

First Team: Landry Shamet, Shake Milton, BJ Taylor, Jacob Evans, and Gary Clark. Giving some love to the Cincy guys over Jalen Adams and Rob Gray.

He seems to at least have done some homework with the Top 5 newcomer and Top 10 transfer list.

If Tubby finishes 9th that is a fireable offense at Memphis

I've said it before that I believe Jalen Adams is the most talented player in conference but then you actually look at his numbers...

Averaged 12 a game in conference last year on 38% shooting (28% from 3). His offensive rating was 98.5 (100 is average) and his defensive rating was also below average. He shows flashes of being dominant but really should be no where near a first team spot until he shows more consistency.

I think 9 is the basement, but 6 could be the ceiling.

I look at last season as a throwaway, with the Lawson drama. Maybe call it the last year of the Pastner era. From here, this is on Tubby, and I would give him 2-3 years to see how it goes.

but i forgot that tulane added 2 4star transfers ..that makes 3 on thier roster next season

i really do think we might be able to get a high number of tourney teams next year 5 or 6 becuase i really think everyone in the league can come in with a decent record from OOC...usf/tulane should be better..even ecu is never horrible they just are never good.

ecu's OOC schedule might be the worst in all D1 but they should come out with a good record from that and still be a 250+ rpi team

I won't mention Rothstein's pick for PoY because that would REALLY irritate SMU fans.

I've got Memphis going 18-13 (8-10 AAC) which should be good enough for 6th-7th place...game by game W/L listed by clicking link.

I actually did read it all. I also recall a few weeks ago when I posted some tiers around where I thought teams would land you were upset about which grouping I placed Houston. The reality is I placed them where everyone on this forum and in the media see them landing. I get you are very optimistic but I also think the league from top to bottom is much much improved so it will require more from Houston than in prior years to finish in the same spot. Do you have more? Certainly but will it be enough who knows?

I agree with your 5-6 tourney bids. The league is vastly improved and fields at least 7-8 pretty solid teams. I also think Tulane like you indicated is going to have some horses to be much better. Should be a great year for the league. Maybe the best since the league was formed.
