Exclamation 62 Days to Kickoff... #62 Fr. OL Cam Kilgour
[Image: kilgour_cam_17.jpg?width=300]

I believe Cam is a preferred walk-on to the program out of Purcellville via Woodgrove HS. He has good size as an incoming true freshman. Get in that weight room, get bigger and stronger, and make your way on the scout team. His Woodgrove teammate, WR Mason Gryniuk, also has joined the program via walk-on.

Good luck to Cam. Just remember 4 years ago a young OL named Aaron Stinnie was a walk-on for the Good Guys as well. 4 years later, he enters his final season with NFL scouts closely watching him. It can and does happen.

Yes. And, here's a fun article about Matt and his journey (involving peanut butter with his O-Line mates) from back in January leading up to the title win in Frisco... https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/co...c92807172a

I watched Woodgrove play against John Champe last fall. Gryniuk is a nice looking receiver, 6'2 with nice hands. He also played DB. Cam played right tackle. John Champe had 6'1" 305 ol/dl EJ Bolden who played both ways on a hot night.

Had never even heard of those high schools- looked up and see they are in Loudon County. When I was in HS (a long time ago) I think there there were only 4 HS in Loudon County- Loudon County, Loudon Valley, Park View, and Broad Run. Might have been a 5th. Now see there are 15.04-jawdrop

I have lived in Sterling since 1984 and the growth in the county and the corresponding boom in school students has been nothing less than phenomenal. As you noted when we moved here there were 4 HS until the early 1990's then boom did things take off!!

Some good HS football programs also!!

That growth is also a little misleading when it's framed as number of schools. Many/most of the new schools in Loudoun are being built with the long-term goal of being 3A-4A sized, so not mega-schools. Every new school becomes gigantic initially though, before leveling off. I just find it interesting how LCPS intentionally builds smaller. As a teacher, I think a Loudoun gets a lot of things right & school size is one of them.

I hear you Parent. When my family moved to Spotsylvania Co in the late 70s there was 1 HS. 1980-2004 they added 4 more. Crazy growth, majority due to No VA/DC commuters. No longer have family there-still apparently 5 HS..Maybe the growth slowed a little...

It has been and is still projected to be the fastest growing county in Virginia (measured by percentage).
