Compher just got a 5-year extension.

Now for Lebo to get an extension through 2027

Didn't even have to read what it was about as the thread title gave it away.

There is a lot of nonperformance amongst our sports to have him get a 5yr extension.

Ok, this is driving me nuts. Would you say that the posters on this board are a fair cross section of ECU fans? Now, I get that it is mostly die hards who will go to the trouble of posting on a message board, but all I see from you guys is that Compher must go. So where in the heck is the disconnect between the fans and the administration? It makes no sense to me.

As long as ECU runs a clean program and athletes are graduating the BOT will continue to support Compher, on the field performance doesn't even factor. At least the that was the message I took away from his interview today.

We are handling it much better than the boneyard banter folks, and we are disgusted.

I will admit as a State fan, I am thrilled ECU keeping Compher. For my ECU friends, I feel for them because I am with them in their disgust. ECU has a proud AD history, Compher has to be one their worst at ECU. I don't get why a five year extension. According to most NCAA experts, 2023 will probably be the start of discussions for the next major realignment. Not the time to be looking for or breaking in a new AD.

NC State fans have no business commenting on our AD's status as long as you have Debbie dumb*** as your current department head, how has she working out for you? And for what it's worth State hasn't beaten ECU in football while Compher has been AD, so there is one positive for him I guess.

That being said timing has never really been ECU's forte in regards to expansion. in 2005 the Big East was looking for football expansion candidates while we were coming off the JT years, then again in 2013 when the Big East expanded we just extended Lebo until the end of time and Holland was being forced out the door by big donors. So extending Compher to the next round of expansion is par for the course at ECU.
