boom is to keep excitement up

Or do I have it reversed?

Been such a long time since a boom or a bam I've forgotten the drill.

I thought it was the opposite. He uses #bam at the end of alot of tweets. #boom was used for recruits

Boom is for something good happening. He uses Bam on twitter all the time.
I honestly hope it is a big 2018 commit.

And there you have it...Joe does it once again. If we didn't have Joe Esposito we would still have 3 players.

RE: Boom
Malik Rhodes. JUCO guard '17.

Should round out recruiting for '17.

Three schollies for 18. Lomax and two others.

Then please help me understand why you sign a lightly recruited JUCO vs. a grad transfer that frees up a 2018 schollie. There were only about 700 grad transfers this year....surely one of them would have been just as good as Rhodes?

More importantly, I thought the reason we passed on Rod Brown was to keep an additional 2018 scholarship available.

Different positions. We needed a backup PG. We have enough bigs that deserve playing time.

I'd wager money that 2 of the JuCo guys just won't pan out and will move on (one way or the other). Happens all the time.

Gotta let it play out.

Absolutely right Nigel.

I don't understand these people constantly counting open '18 scholarships. We had 5 players transfer out in the last 3 months. We've averaged 2-3 transfers out of the program per year for years.

But 2 year JUCO guys don't normally transfer. They do their first year and just ride out the second if it is bad because the only other options are to go NAIA or DII.

Plus, it's not like Memphis will be bringing in a bunch of frosh guys to "play over" seniors.

I'm excited to see how a third year JUCO team can compete in D1 basketball since Memphis can literally start that JUCO lineup:

Rhodes
Brewton
Thornton
Davenport
Parks

I wonder if John McEnroe can comment on the success of a JUCO team in a D1 conference.
