Nobody in the top 100 is the way to do it? That is the recipe for making it to the Sweet 16, correct?

Always one of the worst arguments on any messageboard. I guess someone needs to be a chef to know if food tastes good or bad.

They probably need to be a chef in order to put the right ingredients together to make the creme brulee. And if you don't know how to make it....you should probably stay out of the kitchen and let the professionals being paid to make it, do their jobs without constant interference. You have a new staff of chefs and they are still putting together the ingredients. Let's wait and taste the final product before casting judgement on how good it is going to taste. - Gordon Ramsay

I will use another analogy. If you give Pastner a rib steak and Tubby ground beef, it doesn't matter that Pastner isn't an accomplished chef or that Tubby is a great chef. The rib steak is going to turn out better unless Pastner completely screws it up. If he doesn't completely screw it up, it will turn out better, which is what has happened for the last 8 years.

What we are 100% sure of is that Tubby isn't working with the same ingredients as a chef would at a high end restaurant, he is working with less quality than we have had in the last 18 years at least, and that he doesn't seem to want to change suppliers.

All anyone reasonable could ask if that given the same resources as a top notch restaurant, that Tubby provide ingredients that are somewhere between ground beef and rib steak. If he does that then he has a shot. Also, if a chef throws out 75% of the ingredients that do fit into this category, it is a good reason to be worried.

I went to the ELKS CLUB in Grapevine, TX with some friends. We all ordered steak. It was so tough, after about 3 bites we sent to back as uneatable. I am not sure if it was the steak, the way it was cooked, the fact it apparently had no tenderizer used on it or if we just had a lousy chef. Then again, the hamburgers at OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE are pretty outstanding. My point, let's wait to be served before deciding if the steak or the hamburger was better......your turn.

We did get a taste of an old leftover steak last year and it was good at first but then turned

The Chef got rid of all the remaining steaks and now all we have is something that looks like hamburger. So it is possible that the Chef can make this hamburger taste as good as steak but it is more likely that if he started with steak it would taste better.

But as you say we will need to wait and see...If he can get this team to 19-20 wins that will be Coach of the Year worthy. Tubby has some room to work with here due to expectations.

Who had the most transfers in one year? Tubby or Opie?

Another thought.......It's not so much how the meal looks on the outside but...it is what is in the inside that matters. Have you ever salivated over a meal, as the waiter approaches the table it looks so elegant...kind of like some of our previous teams. However, upon trying it....it just does not taste anywhere near as good as it looked. It was not quite as good on the inside as it looked on the outside, it was uninspired, the ingredients didn't mix well....you knew it was missing something. Maybe the chef was new and had not quite mastered all the techniques required to not only present a good looking meal but one that you could actually enjoy? So, you sent the meal back but....the chef just couldn't make it taste any better, no matter how hard he tired. So, you didn't go back to that restaurant until that sign went up outside "NEW MENU AND CHEF" and you thought...I will try this place again. The new chef had to change the kitchen staff, fumigate the place and get rid of a few rats and completely redo the menu and order new ingredients. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and even though the menu has completely changed...you though...I think the new chef just may know more about cooking than the old one. I am not going to tell him he is a lousy cook without first letting him make a meal that is on the new menu he designed.

Stammer changes the context & his miserable complaining whiner groupies jump on board. If you go back and read the context of my statement it is in response to criticism of how Saul Smith says Memphis recruits. Therefore the criticism & the analog are then misapplied. My statement has nothing to do with anything except the interview with Saul Smith & the uninformed criticism by a group of miserables who know nothing about recruiting apart from reading ratings services, yet they complain about the process used by the Memphis coaches. Sure, complain about the results (which had nothing to do with my statement) but you obviously know very little about the process.
