I think it would have been incredibly foolish of them just to fire him unless they had a good reason. Great way to end up in an expensive lawsuit. As long as it took to fire Champoullion despite the evidence they had, and they still ended up in a suit, I would say that surely this one was pretty cut and dry. I have no inside info, but cannot picture them firing someone this quickly without a rock solid case.

Charges DISMISSED, not dropped. DISMISSED. Basically, ETSU fired someone without cause. Here's a lesson for everyone in relation to Human resources, you always, ALWAYS SUSPEND THEM, even if you know they're guilty. It should've read: "Coach Brummett has been placed on unpaid administrative leave until all the facts of the case are gathered and presented at which time we'll make further assesments of the situation."

ETSU did a hell of a lot better with the current D-Line coach, Darryl Daye. Maybe he's not fired for cause, but the team is better off.

I'll tell you guys, if I get drunk, start cursing at people, enough to get arrested, I will lose my job. I've seen people fired before just for having an affair. I'm sure he didn't just have too much to drink and ask for a room key that worked. Not saying it's always fair or that I agree with it, but it is, unfortunately, how the world works. You make your company look bad, and that's cause for firing these days.

Torbush cannot expect his players to act disciplined if his assistants are acting like fools. Good for ETSU in firing him.

They did initially suspend him and what they found they did not like.
