Revenue Up

Other factors here:

1. USM revenue not on backs of students as much.
2. Ticket sales up.

For the American Conference folks who don't want our ilk, their excuse can't be about our attendance or ability to earn revenue the old fashioned way. And it certainly isn't about wins.

RE: Revenue Up
Revenue is up for The Flamingo Farmer too, his contract being extended through 2021 with a raise " reflective of the standards and responsibilities of the other research institutions in the state." And as he realizes this may cause " consternation and concerns as employees haven't received raises, departments have faced budget cuts, and positions remain unfilled." But fear not, he's establishing another endowment for another student to "fulfill their dreams of an education" with his windfall.

Great job Uncle Rod .. Lode heps dem poe n needee chillrens.

RE: Revenue Up
Rodney has done an admirable job. Prior to his coming the university had allowed so many marginal students in for the sake of revenue that it was biting them on retention.

Here are some good moves by Bennett:

1. Out of state tuition waiver. This will help in a state where the leadership has little value for higher ed.
2. Engineering programs. This will have a positive long-range impact.
3. Marketing. The university is marketing itself much better.

Bennett has proven to be the most stable leader since Lucas.

I think Bennett is doing a good job. He and Fleming are the only two presidents that have really impressed me.

My senior year at USM was Bennetts first so I didn't really get to see the benefits of this new student recruiting policy, but I'm glad to hear it's working. There were some real dumbasses walking around campus a few years ago.

Dude I lived with in Elam Arms actually drank Pine Sol. College may not have been the best direction for him to take after High School.

Didn't have that back then. At least, it wasn't carried at the Jr. Food Mart. Fanciest thing you could drink that wasn't liquor was probably Heineken. Fewer weirdos around, too. Everything has pretty much gone to **** since 9/11.
