Exclamation 68 Days to Kickoff... #68 R-So. OL Tyree Chavious
[Image: chavious_tyree_68.jpg?width=300]

Tyree, from Goldsboro NC via Rosewood HS, a redshirt freshman at the time, started 3 playoff games down the national championship drive at RT and filled in admirably for the injured Sr. leader, Kirsch. Note, this is the epitome of stepping up as these were his first starts at the collegiate level. He performed especially well in the title game going against talented defensive end NFL draft pick(s) from YSU. He will be a favorite to be a starter this season. Listed at 6'4" 300#, that is some seriously good size. With bookend tackles along with Stinnie on the other side, Schor has to feel confident and comfortable with his pocket.

Good luck to Tyree as he potentially takes over the starting role for the next 3 seasons - and, like Kirsch and Stinnie, potentially play his way into a look by the NFL before he's done in purple.

Why do you feel Kirsch wasn't injured?

It seems very obvious that Kirsch was one of those suspended, presumably for a positive recreational drug test like has been discussed for the others that were named. His injury was not what kept him out of those final playoff games. It was just a convenient way to protect him.

I don't have any ill will toward Kirsch, but I find it funny that the myth of his injury keeping him out of the final playoff games is accepted by so many. I was once told that if a reporter asked if Kirsch was suspended, they would have to say yes. Somehow, that question was never asked...

Ok. I don't have any direct knowledge, but I did see a difference vs the others. The others played a full game and then didn't play the next games. Kirsch played one series of the playoff game and then came out due to his injury. He didn't play the rest of the game and he didn't play the rest of the playoffs.

Hart, I feel like your take is a reasonable & logical one. As the public facts stand, your POV makes sense.

I don't feel the need to defend my comments against the "rubbish" response I've just gotten. I know what I know & have no desire to paint Kirsch in a negative light outside of stating what I know. If anyone feels comfortable stating why my take on this is rubbish, feel free.

Can't we let the Kirsch thing go already and focus on the beast in the making that is Tyree? Agree the whole injury/suspension situation was very odd in the end we pulled together as a team to win the champ. Bottom line is Kirsch was a good player while in the purple and gold and we should all be rooting for him to make the Bears squad this season. Going forward we have three great seasons with Tyree. Lot to be thankful for and excited about.

Let's not bash Hyper because he seeks and speaks the truth. BSKB posted his displeasure with some players being named while others remained anonymous. He felt it unfair and I have to agree with him. I feel Hyper has the same issues.

We are all rooting for Kirsch to make the Bears. I think we all can root for him while also disagreeing with how some suspensions were public while the others remained private. All of the players should have been treated the same.

They may have been trying to be hush about kirsch to not hurt his NFL prospects. I agree it was bogus to name some suspended players but not all.

Huge loss to a group that was already lacking in experience.

If there is a silver lining, it better now so we have longer to prepare.
