You haven't heard yet? Liberals have to justify every position they take and speak out against every bad thing every other liberal does. Conservatives just have to call out liberals...they don't have to justify anything.

Nice, huh?

The actual origins of this phenomenon occurred during the campaign when a number of news organizations repeatedly asked Trump if he would disavow the comments made by someone who both supported Trump and was a member of the KKK. This was once used by various members of the media with glee to try to paint Trump into a corner. Remember how "gleeful" Bernie Sanders was when he demanded that Trump needed to disavow the numbers of "undesirable" people who supported him? That Trump was fomenting this hyper-partisan build up of rage in the poor, unwashed masses who felt betrayed by NAFTA and illegal immigration? That was the origin in the "disavow" game.

Unfortunately for those who are democrats in good faith, they get to see the shoe being put on the other foot. Now Bernie gets to be called out for not "disavowing" the shooter who tried to take out as many GOP congressmen as possible. Tom, I have no idea whether you played the disavow game when Trump was a candidate and are "conveniently forgetting" or if you thought it was wrong back then. Regardless, in this world of hyper-partisan rhetoric - most from the left since Trump took office - it's made an extremely ugly atmosphere.

Frankly, the media has so little good will left with the majority of everyday people in this country, I'll be surprised if we don't see massive collapses of a multitude of media companies.

miko, thanks.

At least I can sympathize that it was a thing from the election, and not just conjured out of thin air.

Agree that the media is terrible -- they care only about ratings and clicks, end of story. Whatever riles people up, that's what they want.

Now, being told NO for the first time in their lives, they can't accept it and turn to violence.......but only from a distance. Up close and personal, they are p_ssys.

This. What is sad is that far too many are too lazy to go and get their own info, and just listen to whatever the media tells them. Sheeple.

But until then, this just continues to prove the Demoncrats (note: Not Democrats, but DemoNcrats (aka Progressives)) will always wish the worst on someone they disagree with.

I guess I proved my point...you guys are clearly in a fantasy land where you believe that no repug has ever said anything like this in private. Typical as to your usual delusions that repugs are perfect. 03-rotfl

No guys...I did not say there was anything like this on tape. Jeebus! 03-yawn

You're not wrong to say that Crebman, but on the other hand I think a lot of people just too dang busy to have even 30mins to research any particular thing up on the internet. Work, kids, house, etc. just takes up so much time, it's much easier to just tune in and listen.

And news used to be trustworthy, so that attitude might still exist towards the big news outlets ... but I can't see how cable news would have that.

So wait, just because someone may say something in private that excuses this? Is this more classified information only two people have heard?

Can't see where anyone claimed they didn't say something like this. Just asking for examples where they were stupid enough to be recorded.

Violence toward others is always wrong. The fact is many of the fringe left and fringe right are the cause of so much damage. How many liberal ideologues are responsible for mass murder and political neutralization? I can think of Pol Pot, Stalin, Che....I know there are many others. America is in a dangerous spot. The violence being promoted on campus and the liberal left are sending the country into a potential civil war.

I don't think there would be a war. No more than Canada went to war with the UK for independence.

how about this.....and I've posited this too many times to the dippos....

name me one long term economical positive within a capitalistic society where the dems leaned towards other than filtering to the disadvantaged? (that would be a negative for the dense)

good luck 'hooded' one....
