Even if Trump were to nominate a fairly moderate or centrist judge I would be thrilled. Chances are he will be able to put another true conservative on the bench when RBG retires shortly.

My guess is .. if this happens, he'll go more moderate on his second nomination.

Gorsuch was to make the conservatives happy.
Now he'll look to pull a deal and find someone more moderate/centrist.

No reason to go centrist. The Dems will oppose and demonize whoever it is. The 60 vote bar has already been removed. Nows the time to shift the court away from judicial activism and the Reps have the votes to get it done.

Frankly, this was the main reason many supported Trump. If he shifts the court balance, many will view his presidency as a success regardless of whether he delivers on any of his promises.

Well, to be honest, Coog.. he might actually have a reason to go centrist a bit.

Let's just say he does go Centrist in his choice... and the Democrats vehemently oppose whomever it is, it further puts the nail in the coffin of Democrats having ANY appearance of being willing to be moderates.

Trump can basically lay out the "I went this far for you..." and it wasn't enough. Who's the party that's standing against the American people moving forward?

I do agree, that if it's true and Kennedy is retiring and another strict constitutionalist is appointed.. then yes, I will say that Trump's Presidency is a sure-fire success.

Maybe "Dandy Don" Meredith's song will come into play...."Turn out the lights...the party's over".

I've been telling people since February this was likely it for him. The Gorsuch appointment of one of his old clerks was all he needed to know it was ok to move on.

Kennedy is on deck and Darth Bader is in the hole.

I thought he may go a bit more moderate on this pick, until the libturds went full dipsh*t on Muehller and MUH Russia, and crapped their pants over Gorsuch. Actions have consequences.
