If we see a handful of these types of games scheduled, that would be a different story.

Plus it will be sweet to visit Death Valley.

Like it or not, you have to do a game like that when it is offered. Uconn hate suspended for a minute:

- The AAC wants respect, you play this game. A lot can happen leading up to 2021 including UConn improving, Clemson slipping (lets face it as of today those are the ONLY two directions that each program can go)

- That will be an exposure game for UConn to the ACC - it is no secret that is UConn's goal - you have a golden opportunity handed to you to prove you can compete in that conference - that would be akin to a Houston beating Oklahoma scenario.

- You are getting paid a handsome sum of dough and last time I checked, the AAC is not getting 17M per school per year and you are losing a lot more in old BE money expiring than you are gaining in new TV rights; and you are a state school with a state capitol (Hartford) that is rumored to be on the brink of bankruptcy - TAKE THE MONEY!

- You can and should demand a return basketball game - what is the downside of that? If you are worried about losing that game, your P5 aspirations are a fraud...

- There is no shame in getting paid to play a game like this. You only have a finite number of opportunities to make some waves each football season.

OK Resume UConn hate.....

that would be akin to a App State beating Michigan in 2007 scenario.

No offense to App State.

2016 UConn isn't playing 2016 Clempsen. A lot of time between now and 2021. Don't throw in the towel before the fight starts!

I like 2 for 1s since it at least keeps the larger program honest and gives them incentive to play the contract out. (The middle game is the one you want at home, however...)

I remember when Notre Dame was considering doing a 2-for-1 with Memphis...I'd be down with that.

now that our former OC Chip long is the Notre Dame OC, we should offer em that again.

ultimately turns into a pay game when they buy out their return trip.

I remember when Tulane once pulled a scheduling stunt with Clemson years ago. Their AD was properly pissed off.

a cheap one too as mich state only paid usf $250K to buy out of the game, meaning the body bag game was only worth $250K whereas UConn is getting over a mil.

Clemson is one of those fun (tiny) college towns that explodes on football weekends.

GO to a game there if you get the chance, and yes, pay the high, HIGH price to stay in one of the few hotel rooms in town as its really worth it...you will want to party all night long there.

PS. I did a crazy double header back in Sept 2001:

Went up to Clemson for a few days to see UCF vs Clemson game on Sept 1st (Clemson 21, UCF 13...hence why you party so much BEFORE the game).

Then on the next day, drove over to Darlington to see my first ever NASCAR Southern 500...which was a hoot!

That was a fun Labor Day Weekend...but also an eerie one as my sister and niece were enjoying Sunday Brunch that same day at the Top of the World (Top of the World Trade Center), only to see that attack happen there just 9 days later.
